A holiday cottage in the beautiful setting of Budle Bay, Bamburgh in Northumberland.
Set in the most desirable of Northumberland locations between Budle Bay and Bamburgh the wide and mainly deserted sandy beaches are truly magnificent. This heritage coastline of dramatic castles and quaint fishing villages is one of the most beautiful and breathtaking yet tranquil areas in the whole of the British Isles.
This is an absolute haven for birdwatchers, at any time of the year, and for keen walkers, if the beaches are not enough, the Cheviot Hills and moorlands are only a few miles in land offering many different opportunities.
Cyclists too will revel in the quiet lanes and coastal paths with many clearly marked cycle routes to be explored and enjoyed.
Bamburgh is only a short drive (or a walk along the beach) where there are several good shops, hotels, pubs and restaurant the award winning butchers shop is a must, and the famous Bamburgh Castle Golf Course regarded by some as one of the most spectacular courses in the country is on your doorstep (the 9th green is only a stones throw away from the cottage)
A little further down the coast is Seahouses which offers a larger range of shops and a bank together with some of the more traditional seaside town attractions. There are regular boat trips to the Farne Islands from here and not to be missed are the famous Craster Kippers from the coastal village of Craster just a few more miles South.
The famous medieval market town of Alnwick is only half an hour away. Alnwick Castle, the home of the Duke of Northumberland, provides a wonderful day out. Next to the Castle is the amazing Alnwick Gardens one of the UK's most innovative and spectacular garden projects with the Tree House, set 60m above ground in a grove of Lime Trees, a particular point of attraction
